Robert Lynn Nye, 55, of Argyle, Iowa, passed away at 2:30, Saturday morning, July 8, 2017.
Robert was born July 9, 1961, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Leland Robert and Belva Ann Thompson Nye.
He was united in marriage to Joyce Toops on August 24, 1996, in Reed Springs, Missouri. She survives.
He was raised in the Argyle area and had lived on Belfast Road for the last 19 years. He was employed by Waggoner Solutions as a mechanic and farm worked. Robert likes horses, gardening, antique cars, and making anything mechanical. He built operating cars from stuff lying around on the farm. He enjoyed his motorcycles.
In addition to his wife Joyce, he is survived by his mother Belva Skinner of Argyle; six children, Robert L. Nye, Jr. (KC) of Texas, Michael Nye Novak (Jordyn) of Argyle, Jennifer Shallcross (Josh) of Ft. Madison, Chris Nye (Steve) of Ft. Madison, Mike Christy (Tia) of Keokuk, and Lindsey Benstine (Nate) of Keokuk; a sister Mary Phillips (Terry) of Argyle; and two brothers, Gary Nye (Deana) of Keokuk and Devin Juel (Teleasha Corns) of Texas. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; uncle Gary Thompson of Argyle and aunt Karen wright of Keokuk; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; son Justin Christy; grandparents; and two uncles, Henry Thompson and Ralph Nye.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 7 on Wednesday evening, July12, 2017 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street in Keokuk. A memorial service to celebrate his life will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Donnie Skinner officiating.
