William "Bill" Lee Jefferson, Jr.

We are heartbroken to announce the death of our father, William “Bill” Lee Jefferson, Jr. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts. He gained his wings on November 7, 2022, at the age of sixty-one.

William was born in Keokuk, Iowa, on November 6, 1961, to Mary and William Jefferson. William was a hard-working man who held many jobs in his lifetime. He was extremely proud of his time as a nursing assistant. Bill loved spending time with his family. While he could be extremely serious at times, he also liked to tell jokes and recount memories from years past.  Whether giving advice or helping with a project, he was always there when you needed him and would help you if he could.

William leaves behind his children Cristina (Wesley) White of Burlington, Iowa, Will Jefferson of Burlington, Iowa, Todd (Heather) Jefferson of Kahoka, Missouri, Michael Jefferson of Keokuk, Iowa, and Margaret Jefferson of Keokuk, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren; three sisters: Veronica (Larry) McDowell of Keokuk, Iowa, April (Doug) Limkeman of Keokuk, Iowa, and Josie McVay of Keokuk; his brother John (Lana) Jefferson of Keokuk, Iowa; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

William is preceded in death by his parents William and Mary Jefferson.

The family will be holding a memorial service at 11 am on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church in Keokuk, with Pastor John Heath officiating. A meal will follow.

Memorials may be directed to the family for expenses in care of Cristina White.
