Lydia Sue "Susie" Crowell. 64, of Carthage, IL, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
Susie was born August 21, 1954 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Francis and Darlene Daggs Vradenburg.
She was united in marriage with Randy Crowell, Sr., March 10, 2000, in Carthage, Ill.
Susie had lived in Carthage for 23 years, and had worked at Memorial Hospital in Carthage, and was a cook at the Hancock County Jail.
Susie enjoyed any type of craft work, working crossword puzzles. She really enjoyed being outside and seeing, hearing sounds of nature. She and Randy would like to stop Hoot Owl Ridge along the Mississippi River, and watch the river flow by. Susie's biggest enjoyment was being with her family and cooking for them on special days and taking care of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband; Randy, of Carthage, two children; Adam (Alysha) Vradenburg of Ft Madison, Iowa, and Susan (Michael) Atterberg of Warsaw, IL, two stepchildren; Randy Crowell Jr. and Chrissy Crowell, three grandchildren; Emily Vradenburg, Tanner, and Conner Atterberg, two step-grandchildren; Suzanne Wieman and Adrian Crowell, three great grandchildren; Raylynn Forquer, Ally Crowell and Dominic Houseman, one brother; Arthur (Cheryl) Vradenburg of Keokuk, one sister; Kari Vradenburg, three brothers in-laws; Roland, BJ, and Duke Crowell and one sister in law; Debbie Crowell, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Patrick, one sister in infancy; Nancy, brother-in-law; Steve Crowell and best friend; Debra McCarty.
Celebration of her Life will be held Wednesday August 14, 2019 at 2PM at Dejong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center, 917 Blondeau St., Keokuk, with Pastor Steve Hendricksmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 2PM, Tuesday, August 13, with family present from 6-8 PM.

So sorry Susan in the loss of your mother I know it’s very hard to understand why god took her but she is not in pain eny more and she is at peace hope she has met Truman I met her at your baby shower for tanner god bless you all .
Lydia was a fun person to talk to and she loved her kids and grandkids she will be missed by many people. RIP AND FLY HIGH MY FRIEND.
