Dollie Jean Holmes-Stice

Dollie Jean Holmes-Stice, 54, of Keokuk, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022, at Blessing Hospital in Keokuk.

Dollie was born on September 9, 1967, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of James Holmes and Virginia (Stark) Gilbert. On April 25, 2014, she was united in marriage to Matthew Stice in Lee County, Iowa. He survives.

Dollie graduated from Keokuk High School was employed at several businesses throughout her life, including Sonic, Burger King, KFC and Goldie Sawmill. She loved crafting and was a very creative person. Dollie also enjoyed fishing, rock collecting, watching paranormal videos and playing brain-teaser games on her phone. She loved to crank her classic rock up loud and was always a fun person to be around.

Dollie is survived by her husband Matthew Stice of Keokuk; two children: Terry Allen (Taylor) Briggs of Hamilton, Illinois, and Brandi Rae Briggs of Keokuk; two step-children: Tiffany (Gabe Camp) Stice of Hamilton, and Sara Stice of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; nine grandchildren with one on the way; her mother-in-law Linda Altheide and father-in-law Richard Stice; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Carla (Tyson) Waetzig, Chad (Nikki) Stice, Randy Stice and Belinda Stice; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dollie is also survived by her beloved dog Precious.

Dollie is preceded in death by her mother and father Virginia and James, her sister Carol Sue Holmes and her step-father Terry Altheide.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at DeJong-Greaves-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk.
