Doris Darlene (Overhulser) Beaty Luegering

Doris Darlene (Overhulser) Beaty Luegering, 91, of Spring Park, Minnesota, formerly of Keokuk, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Lake Minnetonka Shores in Spring Park, Minnesota.

Doris was born July 7, 1930, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Mabel (Vandruff) Overhulser. She graduated from Keokuk High School and was later united in marriage to Alford D. Beaty. He preceded her in death on August 20, 1969. She was later united in marriage to Robert G. Luegering. He preceded her in death in April of 2002.

Doris worked as a bookkeeper for Jack’s Discount until she retired in 1992 after 12 years of service. She enjoyed spending her free time gardening, reading, and knitting, and she loved the mountains. Doris loved to fly with her husband, Al. Everywhere Doris went, people were drawn to her. She was also a member of the Keokuk Elks Lodge 106, First Christian Church, Fort Madison Hospital Auxillary, and Keokuk Head Start.

Doris is survived by two daughters: Karen (Richard) Braun of Wayzata, MN, Kancy (George) Vermillion of Nicollet, MN; four grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, infant sister, seven brothers, her sister  Glora Robertson, her daughter Kristine Brower, and her husbands Alford Beaty and Robert Luegering.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, January 14, 2022, at DeJong-Greaves-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00-3:00 pm at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held.

Memorials may be directed to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
