Eric Ray Younker, 44, passed away at his home in Aurora, Colorado, on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. He was born March 28, 1979, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Gary Ray and Rozella Anise (Stott) Younker.
Eric attended school in Springfield, Missouri. As a young boy, he had a huge Star Wars collection. He also collected old comic books and had most of the 1960 big G.I. Joe dolls.
Eric enjoyed visiting his grandparents, Lloyd and Evelyn Stott on the farm east of Kahoka, Missouri. Later he spent time at his uncle and aunt’s home, Larry and Nancy Adamson of Kahoka.
Eric was close to his uncle Ramo Stott. He would call him for advice on how to restore his 1950 Dodge Wayfarer. Later in life, he spent time talking on the phone to Daryl and DJ Bunker about parts for his car. The last summer, he came to stay with his uncle Danny and cousin Dennis Bunker in Revere, Missouri.
His favorite thing to do was barbeque, especially for his mother. He loved steak and Coke. Eric couldn’t wait until his trip to Kahoka to enjoy eating “big catfish”.
In Colorado, Eric had many friends and never knew a stranger. He even knew the name of the mailman and most of his neighbors. Eric really enjoyed going to Rosie’s Vintage Cars Diner where all the old cars showed up (of course the owners did too).
Eric is survived by his parents; brother: Jason Lee Younker and his wife, Tyler of Colorado; nephew: Caleb James Younker of Colorado; nieces: Savana Dawn (Gabin) of Colony, New York, and Brooke Younker of Colorado; aunts: Judy Stott of Keokuk, Iowa, Nancy Adamson of Kahoka, Missouri, Gaylene Jackson of Springfield, Missouri, and Concho Younker of Texas; uncles: Larry Adamson of Kahoka, Missouri and Robert Lee Porter and wife Kathy of Huntsville, Alabama.
Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents Lloyd and Evelyn Stott of Kahoka, Missouri, and Delbert and Fay Younker of Springfield, Missouri; uncles: Danny, Ramo and Clarence Stott of Kahoka, Missouri, Marvin Younker of Texas, Mitchell Porter of Springfield, Missouri and Bill Rockhold of Wayland, Missouri; aunt: Louise Rockhold of Wayland, Missouri; cousins: Cindy LeAnn Masterson of Sutter, Illinois, and Kyle Edward Savage of Keokuk, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 pm on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the family farm, 27000 County Road 273, east of Kahoka. The farm originally belonged to Eric’s late grandparents, Lloyd and Evelyn Stott and is now owned by Daryl Eugene Bunker.
