Georgia Meyers Obituary

Georgia L. Meyers, 83, of Montrose, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Montrose Health Center, Montrose, Iowa.

Georgia was born on January 11, 1938, the daughter of George and Emma (Sapp) Rossi.

Georgia was a member of Montrose Church of the Nazarene and loved listening to southern gospel music. She enjoyed being a homemaker and farm wife and loved crocheting and giving those items away to others. Georgia also loved John Wayne and Shirley Temple movies and working on puzzles in her spare time.

Georgia is survived by her two sons: Gene (Michelle) Meyers of Fort Madison, Iowa and Michael Root; grandchildren Amy Troge and Elizabeth Meyers; great-grandchildren Wyatt Troge and Jason Troge; two sisters Marge Crabtree of Pharr, Texas and Emma Jean Johnson of Davis City, Iowa; brother Tommy Rossi of Georgia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Robert Stoops, Billy Stoops, Helen Nye, Viola McCroy and George Rossi; and granddaughter Jennifer Meyers.

Georgia’s life will be celebrated with a funeral service at 11 am on Friday, June 25, 2021, at Montrose Church of the Nazarene with a visitation from 9:30 am to 11 am directly before the service. Burial will follow at Montrose Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Montrose Church of the Nazarene.
