Geraldine “Jerri” Ann Welsh, 77, passed in peace on November 30, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents Arther Nelle and Dorothy Andersen, husband Mike Welsh, and son Ron Wagner. She is survived by sister and brother in law Joyce and Ed Ratliff, daughter Janet Rudd, grandchildren Danielle Chesnut, Brady Rudd, Matthew Rudd, Sheena Wagner, and Sheldon Wagner, and great-grandchildren Payton, William, Jackson, and Silas Chesnut.
Jerri was a graduate of Ft. Madison High School class of 1961 and a retiree of Dial Corp where she worked for 28 years. She was first married to Roy Wagner and later divorced. They raised their two children on the Mississippi River near Montrose. Later she married Mike and they resided in Ft. Madison where she enjoyed her retirement years gardening, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She was an honored volunteer for the local hospice program where her love for people brought joy and comfort to many. After her husband passed, she spent her last years in Washington, Missouri near her daughter and her family. Jerri was a loving friend, wife, sister, mother, grandmother and child of God and will be missed and remembered by all who knew her. May she rest in Gods peace.
Jerri’s life will be celebrated with a graveside service at 10 am on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at the Montrose Cemetery in Montrose, Iowa, with a fish fry at Sheldon Wagner’s shop (2826 Highway 61, Montrose, Iowa) directly following the service.
