Obituary
Glenda L. Hardman, 83, of Keokuk, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
Glenda was born on September 2, 1939, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Horace F. Mann, Jr., and Pansy (Lanam) Mann. On August 24, 1957, she was united in marriage to Jerry Dean Hardman, Sr., in Keokuk. He survives.
Glenda was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and watching her hummingbirds. She loved to shop and collected antiques and musical clocks. Glenda loved a good deal and frequented yard sales, where she was usually the early bird.
Glenda is survived by her husband Jerry Dean Hardman, Sr., of Keokuk; four sons: Jerry Dean (Sherry) Hardman, Jr., of Keokuk, Ricky Hardman of Keokuk, Robert (Tammy) Hardman of Lexington, Kentucky, and Jamie (Angie) Hardman of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; three daughters: Kellie Smith of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Gina Hardman of Keokuk and Leslie Hardman of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; her sister Judith Grogan of Elvaston, Illinois; her brother Larry (Connie) Mann of North Carolina; her sisters-in-law Sharon Mann of Tennessee and Shirley (Bob) Weis of Keokuk; her brother-in-law Raymond (Kathy) Smith of California; twenty-four grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Glenda is also survived by her constant companion, her dog Schwhite.
Glenda is preceded in death by her parents, eleven siblings, her granddaughter Bobbi Jo Wrieden, her great-granddaughter Jaley Ackers; and her great-great-grandson Mason Hardman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at DeJong-Greaves-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk, with burial to follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Keokuk. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 31, from 3 to 7 pm, with family meeting friends from 5 to 7 pm at DeJong-Greaves-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk.
