Judith “Judy” Ann Roberts, 73, of Keokuk, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
Judy was born on February 5, 1947, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Robert William and Wilma Faye (Anders) Day. On April 23, 1966, she was united in marriage to Ronald Jay Roberts at the Melrose United Methodist Church in Argyle, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1991.
A lifelong resident of Keokuk, Judy spent her working career employed at Sheller-Globe, KPF Foundry and Harrington’s Bar and Grill. She was a member of the Southside Boat Club and the American Legion Auxiliary, and was actively involved in the Labor Temple in her younger years. Judy graduated from Keokuk Senior High with the Class of 1965 and later earned her Associates Degree from Southeastern Community College. Judy spent her free time gardening, taking care of others and doting on her beloved grandchildren. Even in the later years of her life, she still ate lunch regularly with her childhood friends, and would take tour bus trips around the country with friends as well.
Judy is survived by two daughters: Jami (Troy) Taylor and Deirdre (Dee Dee) Roberts, both of Rogersville, Missouri; four grandchildren: Emily and Logan Taylor, Cameron Roberts and Conner Roberts-Bowman, all of Rogersville; five siblings: Douglas Day of Omaha, Nebraska, Randy Day of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Candy (Mike) Mueller Bettendorf, Iowa, David Day of Kansas City, Missouri, Kevin (Beth) Day of Urbandale, Iowa; a very special Aunt Evelyn Bechtel of Burlington; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Judy is preceded in death by her husband Ronald, two brothers: Bobby and William, and her parents.
Judy’s life will be celebrated with a funeral service at 11 am on Monday, July 6, 2020, at DeJong-Greaves-Printy Funeral Home at 917 Blondeau Street in Keokuk, Iowa. Burial will follow at Keokuk National Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2020, from 1 to 6 pm, with family meeting friends from 3 to 6 pm at the funeral home.
