Marilyn J. Reiter, 82, of Quincy, formerly of Ursa, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Sunset Home in Quincy.
Marilyn was born on April 3, 1938, in Lima, Illinois, the daughter of the late Virgil and Clara (Rabe) Andrew. She graduated from Bowen High School and later Quincy Beauty Academy. Marilyn was employed at the Illinois Veteran’s Home for over twenty years. In her free time, she tended to her immaculate flower gardens, cooked and sewed. Marilyn was a wonderful person with a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She never met a stranger and loved animals of all kinds. But most of all, she loved her family.
Marilyn is survived by three children: Kathy (Jim) Maher of Cascade, Montana, Kermit Reiter of Ursa, Illinois, and Kevin (Goldie) Reiter of Ursa; two grandsons: Staff Sergeant Brandon Reiter of Rising Sun, Maryland, and Kaleb (Ashley) Reiter of Lima, Illinois; her sister Deloris (Bill) Moore of West Point, Illinois, two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson. Marilyn was also a surrogate mother to many young people in her life.
No services will be held at this time.
