Maxine Madge Baum, 93, of Keokuk, Iowa, died Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Donnellson Health Center, in Donnellson, Iowa. She was born December 5, 1927 in Lewis County, MO. Maxine was the daughter of Harry Frederick Warning and Florence Ethel Homaday. She graduated from LaGrange, MO High School in 1945. Maxine married Floyd Melvin Baum in LaGrange, MO on March 23, 1947.
Maxine is survived by her sister Elsie Sherwood of LaGrange, MO; son Stephen (Deborah) Baum of Keokuk; daughter Linda K. (S. Michael) McCully of Bloomsburg, PA; grandchildren Patrick W. (Carmalitta) Baum of Nauvoo and Erin L. McCully (Ian Jeffress) of Sylva, NC; great-granddaughters Lia McCully Jeffress and Sophia Roberts; great-grandsons Michael (Lilly) Carr, Komonnie Moody and Zavior Moody and one great-great granddaughter.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Melvin Baum and brothers Harry Leroy Warning, Paul Edward Warning, Austin Eugene Warning, William Otis Warning, and an infant sister Naomi Lois Warning.
Maxine was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Keokuk. She worked for many years for Montgomery Wards. An avid quilter and gardener, Maxine filled her home with beautiful quilts and flowers.
A memorial service will be held Monday, October 18 at 11:00 am at Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, IA. A procession to the cemetery will meet at DeJong-Greaves-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk at 10:30 am on Monday.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Keokuk.
