Scott Kelley Obituary

Scott Edward Kelley, 62, of Keokuk, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison, Iowa.

Scott was born on August 3, 1961, in Minnesota, the son of James Leonard Kelley and Helen Ermina (Barton) Kelley Trask. He graduated from Danville High School in 1979, and went on to attend Southeastern Community College in Burlington. Scott was a member of UFCW Local #617, and was employed at Conagra for the past 22 years. He was a talented woodworker, and was very good at re-purposing furniture. He enjoyed disc golfing, and in his younger years, he spent his free time bowling, trap shooting and collecting antiques. He was also a car enthusiast, but his main priority in life were his grandchildren, and he attended every event he could.

Scott is survived by three daughters: Jill (Matt) Mitchell of Grundy Center, Iowa, Jess (Jacob) Murphy of Carthage, Illinois, and Cassie (Boyfriend Brandon Devitt) Kelley of Hamilton, Illinois; his son Brian (Kayley) Kelley of Kahoka, Missouri; nine grandchildren: Lucas, Hayley and Mackenzie Mitchell, Peyton and Parker Murphy, Gunner, Rosa, and Jasper Stark and Cassidy Kelley; two sisters: Sandra Strange of West Burlington, Iowa, and Cori Keefe of Nixa, Missouri; two brothers: Harry (Betty) Knight of Atlantic, Iowa, and David (Jenny) Kelley of Ozark, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Ralph Trask, his brother Britt (Jan Heinold) Kelley, and his brother-in-law Patrick Keefe.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at DeJong-Greaves-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk, with burial to follow at Jagger Cemetery in Danville, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23, from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
